Move-A-Thon FAQs:

What is a Move-A-Thon?

Our Move-A-Thon is a fundraising event allowing the participant to select the activity they enjoy the most.  Participants can do one or more activity, such as walking on one or more days and doing yoga on one or more days.  There is no minimum or maximum amount of activity to be a part of this fundraising event.

Why would I want to participate?

The primary goals are to raise funds for The Emanuel Sisterhood and, in turn, for our synagogue.  This is a way to be together for a common goal while staying socially distant.

What activities can I do?

You can do, or choose not to do, any activities.  Some activities we have thought of are running, walking, swimming, yoga, gym classes of any type, etc.  The activity is a personal choice for every participant.

Do I need to get sponsors?

You do not need to get sponsors but if you choose to do so, to cover the initial donation on the registration form, or to add to your initial donation, that would be welcome.  This is based on your choice as to whether you would like to go about seeking sponsors to support your individual activity achievements.

Do I have to submit the "Track Your Moves" form?

No—this form is for you to keep track of your activities.  You are welcome to submit the form at the end as we will be recognizing those who did activities in support of this fundraiser.

Do I have to do an activity to donate?

No — great news — if you would like to make a donation without feeling obligated to do a related activity, just click the selection at the bottom of the registration levels designating a donation strictly in support of the event.

Can I donate at any time or just during the dates specified?

Donations and registrations are already being accepted.  You can donate and register now!

Do I have to submit proof that I did an activity?

Not at all.  This is a personal preference.

Is it ok to count how long I did a yoga class for vs how many classes I took?

Absolutely!  If you took a 30 minute yoga class, you may choose to record it; if you took 3 yoga classes you may record that way.  If you walked 2 miles you may record that; if you walked 40 minutes, you may choose to record that way.
